What began as a small ice cream parlor on Delaya had
turned into a galactic phenomenon. Frozen desserts sold
in every store. Franchises in every planet in the known
galaxy. Saturday morning HoloNet program. But the crown
jewel of it all was Auntie Maeland on Corellia. Each day
millions of people came to the endlessly growing theme
park that seemed to open a newly themed section every
week. The only thing that grew faster than the park
itself was the admission prices, with a single adult
ticket now costing 147 credits. Claudius Rodney had
chosen to take his family there after the adoption of
Ewwiekewwieikkie, but nothing could have prepared him
for what he was going to be in store from. As the tram
from the spaceport took them to the park the glistening
towers of the gates that would lead to a world of edible
wonderment came into view. As he looked down to his
children and niece he was glad they were so excited, but
for him this was going to be a long day. Especially as
'Its a Small Galaxy Afterall' began playing on the tram.
There had been great anticipation for the Auntie
Maeland trip. Sierra Rodney had watched, day after day,
as her girls grew more inspired by the commercials for
this holy sanctuary of sweets. She saw them play pretend
games where they went on trips to the place deemed 'the
merriest in the galaxy' Their excitement had
successfully crept inside of her. She didn't want to
admit it, but even she had a hard time sleeping the
prior evening. She simply couldn't wait! After the
successful adoption of Melickielickie, now was the
perfect time to go.
Sierra sat on the tram with a grin on her face. A
light breeze moved through her hair as the tram took
them closer and closer towards their destination. Bruce
was in quite a happy mood himself. He was seated
comfortably in the baby sling wrap around Sierra's body.
Atop his head, he wore a little hat to keep the sun off
of him. Sierra looked over the girls. Callista had not
stopped bouncing in twenty-four hours. Her legs moved
quickly back and forth while she rapidly spoke to
Ewwiekewwieikkie about the park. Melickielickie had
squirmed her way into Ewwiekewwiekkie's lap, and was
happily watching the world whizz by. All three girls
were wearing matching shiny bracelets, which Sierra had
cleverly given them in the morning. What looked like
ordinary bracelets also functioned as trackers. So, in
the case someone got lost, they could be found. As soon
as the song began to play, the girls broke out singing.
They knew the words *already*.
As the tram came to a stop, Sierra made her way out.
What she stood before was the gates of heaven...er,
candy. Gigantic ice cream cones made up the support of
the fence. The actual bars were made of candies that
appeared real, yet were certainly fake. The gates were
open and just inside the park stood the Loth cat that
appeared on the logo of Auntie Mae's empire. The first
thing Sierra noticed was the smell. It was like someone
had figured out a way to make sugar airborne. She looked
towards her husband, silently realizing that they were
going to be *very* tired when this day came to an end.
The first stop as they entered Auntie Maeland was, of
course, a gift shop. One of 7,200 such vendors on the
grounds of the park. The music playing was incessantly,
of course with subliminal marketing in full effect,
attempting to get people to spend, spend, spend. There
was candy everywhere, and plenty of small, but free,
samples simply to whet the children's appetite. One of
the vendors was selling giant, cooked thranta legs that
people could eat as they walked around. And of course
costumed characters were everywhere, including Brad the
Bantha, and Doug the Dewback. Ewwiekewwieikkie made her
way towards each of the free sample tables, placing her
entire arm on the platter and then attempting to drag
them *all* into her mouth. When she saw the fake candy
bars she went towards them grabbing hold, and attempting
to pull them off. She then attempted to gnaw on them,
but they were not edible. "Yucky," she declared, before
being surrounded by human children who thought she, too,
was one of the costumed characters.
"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!"
Callista had to be reminded to breathe many times this
morning. The little girl was so excited. The gift shop
was overwhelming in the best of ways. She darted towards
Brad the Bantha and Doug the Dewback. "Hi! I'm Princess
Callista!" She said, courtesy and all. She hugged each
character and told them she loved them roughly half a
dozen times before running towards Ewwie. She, too, had
noticed the candy bars and curiously wondered if they
were edible. When she saw Ewwie try, and fail, Callista
decided she shouldn't mouth them either. "*Ewwie*!
*We're here*! *Can you believe it*!" She said, bounding
through the children to reach the Squib. She began
climbing onto her back. "Hold meee!" She cried out.
Melickielickie's nose twitched in the air. "Me
smells... Me smells..." She pawed her chin slowly. "*Me
smells candy*! *Eee*!" The little Squib yanked at the
bottom of Sierra's shirt. "Mommeee. Candyyyy! Daddyyyy!
Candyyy!" She opted to stay close to Sierra and
Claudius, but she grabbed her father's hand and began
leading him towards what was left of the samples. "Candyyy!"
She picked up something that looked like a piece of
chocolate and ate it. "Eeee!!!" She squeaked loudly,
pawing at her mouth. "Ugh! Yuck! Ewww! Yuck!" Her tongue
flung out of her mouth. She used her paws to try to get
every scrap of chocolate off of her tongue. Beneath the
sample were the words 'Alderaan Anise' The little Squib
had tears in her eyes. She looked up at her father. "So
yucky! You no eat!"
Claudius quickly rushed to the paniced Melickielickie.
"What's wrong?" he asked her, when he could clearly see
that something was *wrong* with one of the candies se
selected. He looked at the note and saw it was 'Alderaan
Anise' and when he *thought* no one was looking he
quickly snatched up three and piled them into his mouth.
It was the closest he would get to a drink at Auntie
Maeland, and he desperately needed *something* to help
with the unbridled enthusiasm of the girls. As he
watched them run around inspecting everything, he looked
towards Sierra cradling Bruce. He knew he would have to
come back when Bruce was older ... and then when their
next child was older ... he was going to have to get
used to this becoming a recurring staple of their lives.
"We need to get them out of the shop and to the rides,"
he suggested to Sierra, as he tried to move the
hyperactive girls towards the spinning caf cups ride.
"Heeyyy..." Sierra said, giving her husband a knowing
look. He was busted, and she felt a little jealous. Even
the possibility of a second pregnancy meant staying away
from the drinks and everything that had alcohol in it.
It would be easy to resist tomorrow, but Marcus and
Zara's ball was sure to bring a struggle. She saw
Melickielickie looking briefly unhappy beside her
father. She lit up again as soon as she heard the word
'rides' Sierra nodded her head to his suggestion. "I
agree. I'd like to escape before they see the
Ewwiekewwieikkie sized chocolate bars." She helped to
corral the girls. "C'mon, girls! Let's go head to the
"Yayyy!" Callista and Melickielickie cried out in
union. They moved towards the spinning caf rides, where
the occupants controlled how quickly the cups spun by a
wheel device positioned in the middle of the caf. Sierra
watched two children spin themselves until they vomited.
She began to remove Bruce from his baby sling and
offered the smiling boy to his father. "Wish me luck..?"
She said with a smile as she quickly darted off to a caf
that was already filled with her girls. Sierra
positioned her hands on the wheel, ready to fight all
*three* girls to keep the cup from spinning too quickly.
Sierra was a damn fool.
"Weeeeee!" Ewwiekewwieikkie said as she spun around
and around and around and around and around in the
spinning caf cups. But then suddenly the poor young
Squib became very nauseous. "Off! Off! Stop!" she
demanded, as she felt all of the sweets she had just
consumed threatening to come back on her. "Nooooo!" she
cried, as suddenly she began to spit some of the
candies. "Ugh," she said, as she climbed out of the
still moving spinning caf cup and began to crawl to
safety. But when she looked up ... she saw it. She had
arrived at Doctor Tohan's Wild Ride. "Pilaq!" she said,
as she walked up to the giant statue of her doctor. She
gave it a big hug, not understanding it was just a
model. "C'mon everybody!" she said, as she jumped into a
speeder with all of her family. Suddenly the speeder
ride began to take off, as bars came down to hold them
in place. It flew through a recreation of Ithor,
crashing through tree branches, and rising up the herd
ships. "Weeeeeee!" Ewwiekewwieikkie said, actually
thinking she was back on Ithor. "How we get here?!" she
asked Sierra, just as the speeder turned upside down and
plummeted into darkness that ultimately would land them
at the end of the ride. "We back?" she asked, as she
brought her paw up to her chin and began to scratch.
There was so much about Auntie Maeland she loved, but so
much she simply could not understand.
Ohno. Sierra looked panicked as the inevitable began
to happen. She hadn't been able to control the cup from
speeding too quickly. Now she was gripping the spinning
wheel in between them, trying to stop the cup. "Hold on!
Just hold on! I'm going to make it stop!" But she
couldn't, not before Ewwiekewwieikkie climbed out.
Melickielickie and Callista seemed unaffected. They
thought it was fun and moved onto the next ride without
missing a heartbeat. It made her smile to see how the
girls reacted to the mythical magic of Auntie Maeland.
To all three of them, it made no sense. Doctor Tohan's
Wild Ride was a prime example of how magical the place
was. Even Sierra felt it was a damn good representation
of the clean planet of Ithor. She laughed. "Weeee!" She
even threw up her hands at several of the thrilling
parts of the ride. It was so much fun! She wasn't sure
who was feeling instantly addicted more: her or the
As they got off, Sierra helped Melickelickie down
from the speeder. "Yup. We're back. Let's try this one
next." She didn't want to tell Ewwiekewwieikkie how it
all worked. It wasn't that she wouldn't understand it.
It was that Sierra never wanted to take away that awed,
mystified look off of her face. In their mind, the girls
had just visited Ithor. Sierra helped direct the group
to a ride even Bruce could go one: The Swampy Cruise.
They all piled into a large boat with a low, rumbling
motor. There was a droid directing the ride, cracking
the most cheesy jokes. The ride transported them to the
swamps of Dagobah. There were even mechanical animals
like the Dagobah python and Jubba birds. There was also
a mechanical Rainbow Rancor, for Auntie Mae was one of
the sponsors of the show. Bruce's big eyes stared at the
rancor. Even he recognized it!
Ewwiekewwieikkie was sitting pleasantly on The Swampy
Cruise ... but for long. When she saw the Rainbow Rancor
she began to freak out. "Sierra, he's here!" she said,
and then she was quickly out of her seat, and then,
predictably, out of the boat. Right into the stagnant
water that surrounded the ride she went, wading forward
in waist deep water to get to the island with the
Rainbow Rancor. "Ugh," she groaned, as she pressed her
hands onto the shoreline of the fake island and climbed
up onto it. She then quickly wrapped her arms around the
fake Rancor, and began to smile from ear to ear. "I love
you Rainbow Rancor," she declared ... she was not going
anywhere until someone made her.
"Ewwiekewwieikkie!" She called out, only it was too
late already. The Squib could *move*. She could move
fast! Sierra couldn't do anything to stop her from
reaching that Rancor. Sierra realized it early, and
didn't try to stop her. The droid at the wheel had
stopped operating the boat. "Miss, please keep your
hands, legs, and body inside of the boat." He called out
in a monotone voice. Sierra decided to take advantage of
the opportunity. She reached into Bruce's diaper bag,
finding her holocamera. She snapped several pictures of
Ewwiekewwieikkie looking happier than she had ever seen,
then put her holocam away to see about getting her
adoptive daughter back in the boat. "Ewwiekewwieikkie!"
Sierra called out, reaching again into the diaper bag.
She removed one very large serving spoon she had hidden
away from the girls in case something like this
occurred. She held it up, letting the light glimmer off
Ewwiekewwieikkie looked at the spoon and then looked
at the Rainbow Rancor and then back at the spoon and
then back at the Rainbow Rancor and then back at the
spoon and then back at the Rainbow Rancor and then back
at the spoon and then back at the Rainbow Rancor. "Hmm.
Hmm. Hmm," she groaned, before reluctantly letting go of
the Rainbow Rancor. "I love you!" she said, one more
time, before she began getting back into the toxic water
that had been growing stagnant in the ride since it
opened without even being cleaned. "Ugh! Ugh!" she
groaned, as she tried to catch up with the boat. She
then raised her little paws, trying to climb back up,
until she finally managed to get back inside. She then
reached out, snatching the spoon, but then her eyes
caught a glimpse of the Rainbow Rancor as it was growing
smaller as the boat moved into another section of the
ride. She was beginning to wonder if she had made the
Claudius lowered his face into his palm as *everyone*
was taking pictures of Ewwiekewwieikkie's acting up in
the middle of the ride. His children were about to
become HoloNet sensations. He suddenly wished he had
something stronger than Auntie Mae's Alderaan Anise
candy to get him through this. He thought the day was
nearly over and that they could return to the hotel to
spend the night getting the toxins out of
Ewwikewwieikkie's fur. His eyes went to his chronometer
and he discovered they had only been there over an hour.
He felt more defeated than when the Empire lost at
Chandrila. When they emerged from The Swampy Cruise the
girls began to go nuts when they saw the ride based on
one of their favorite Holovid series. The Pirates of
Wild Space. "Here we go again," he said to Sierra, as
the girls began to run towards their favorite holovid
star and alleged wife beater.
Sierra gritted her teeth. She wasn't sure if the
spoon was going to win against the life-sized Rainbow
Rancor. "Please work," she said under her breath,
watching Ewwiekewwieikkie move through the sickening
swampy waters. She nudged her husband with her shoulder
as she saw him attempting to hide in his palm. "Don't
worry. I brought the good shampoo." She snuck in a kiss
to his cheek. She successfully had Ewwiekewwieikkie in
the boat and the rest of the ride went smoothly. She
made a mental note to stop by the gift shop and purchase
a Rainbow Rancor plush for each of the girls, and Bruce
too, before they left. Sierra made the mistake of
letting her eyes move over his chronometer. Looking on
the bright side, at least she wasn't suffering from
Everyone unloaded from the boat and the adventure
continued in The Pirate of Wild Space. Sierra, somehow,
managed to keep *all* the girls in the boat for that
one. After that, they ended up in an arcade... So Sierra
and Claudius could take a break while the girls ran from
game to game entertaining themselves. "I think we'll go
to the Atollon Room next. There's supposedly mechanical,
singing convors. The best part of all? It's a ten minute
sit down ride." She laughed. Readjusting, Sierra brought
Bruce from the sling and cuddled him against her chest.
She rocked from side to side while she walked, stopping
at an old Fortune Teller game with a Wookiee dressed up
in Mommy Fortuna garb. She arched her head up at her
husband, offering him a bright smile. Auntie Maeland had
brought out a bit of the childish part of Sierra. As a
child, she hadn't gotten to *be* a child. Her mother had
forced her to grow up so quickly.
She stopped at the game, pressing a button to make a
fake fortune card pop out of the slot near the bottom of
the game. She bent over, grabbed the card, and looked at
the printed writing. It simply said 'There is an olive
in your future' She snickered and laughed. "Here, I
think this one is for you too." She offered it to
Claudius watched as Sierra bounded off towards the
Mommy Fortuna in a manner similar, but as extreme, as
the children. He moved towards her, taking the fortune
from her, but entirely understanding it. "Are we going
to an olive bar? Purchasing an olive grove to make oil
in our retirement?" he asked, before carefully folding
it and placing it within his pocket. He took her by the
hand, watching the children as they moved towards the
Atollon Room where they would blessedly get to sit down.
He was not sure why he decided to wear dress boots when
there was going to be so much walking involved. His
blisters had blisters. As they sat down the convors
began to sing another obnoxious song with more
subliminal marketing. The ten minutes allowed him to sit
down, but the music almost made it not worthwhile. When
the ride finally came to a stop they were dropped off
in, you guessed it, a gift shop selling adorable plus
convors that sang the same song as in the ride. A
bargain at only 37 credits each, power cells not
She laughed softly. "With the way our day's going,
I'm surprised it didn't bring to mind a martini." She
wouldn't blame him! Sierra walked with her love towards
the Atollon Room, where everyone had the chance to rest
their feet. While she had abandoned her ISB uniform,
simply because her cream top was bound to be ruined by
the day's end, she had, stupidly, worn a dark colored
shirt that ensured all exposed body parts would be burnt
to a crisp. The girls seemed to have unending energy
today. The singing in the Atollon Room had them all
amused ... up until they learned the lyrics and began to
sing it over and over again. The gift shop was a whole
other story. While Sierra thought the convors were
really cute, she wasn't sure she wanted to take one of
the plushies home.
Callista, on the other hand, felt differently. She
*loved* the convors. "Auntie! Uncle! Can we get one?!
There's a pink one with a crown right there!" She said,
pointing her small finger towards the bird plush. It
would be Iyah and Mug who had to suffer through its song
when she returned to New Alderaan.
Claudius used to think Drusilla was spendy, but the
amount they were spending on souvenirs was growing
exponentially. Still, it was worth it, as he willingly
handed over his credit chit. They now had so many bags
of souvenirs that he wished that they had Marcus and
Zara Rodney's nanny droid to carry everything. As they
came out of the gift shop they came face to face with
the one ride he had always feared: Beggar's Canyon. "Uh.
I think I'm going to sit this one out," he said to
Sierra, as he heard the screams from those on the roller
coaster. Already he was becoming queasy, and some of the
color began to retreat from his face.
However, then Ewwiekewwieikkie saw Brad the Bantha
near the ride there was no stopping her. "C'mon Daddy!
Daddy!" she said, as she grabbed her adoptive father by
the hand and began dragging him towards the ride against
his wishes. "Melickielickie! Callista! Sierra! Bruce!
Hurry!" she said in absolute terror as she feared not
being able to catch up with the mascot. However, once
she saw the ride she became equally excited and her
yellow eyes widened like crazy. She began to pile into
the front of the car, with her father next to her, as
everyone filed in.
The guard rails came down causing Claudius to fill
with fear, while Ewwiekewwieikkie began to clap.
Suddenly the ride was off and they were moving much too
fast through the recreation of the canyon on Tatooine.
"At this speed will we be able to pull out in time?
Claudius asked, as they moved past some animatronic womp
rats. Just as they began to near the canyon wall he let
out a tremendous scream of fear, which is exactly when
the holo camera went on, forever capturing the moment
for the low, low, price of 26.5 credits. Suddenly the
ride shot up, causing them to miss the end of the
canyon, and depositing them back from which they came.
Everyone had exited the ride by Claudius who was pale
and shaking, and perhaps needed his underwear cleaned as
much as Ewwiekewwieikkie's fur.
"Yay! Yay! Yay! Thank youuu!" Callista cuddled her
little convor. "I shall name you 'Sherry'!" She
declared, running a single digit along the length of the
convor's body. She moved along with the crowd towards
the next ride, but when she heard the panicked screaming
coming from those who entered the ride, and the sickly
looking people who came out of the ride, Callista was
scared. She hung back nervously. Sierra wasn't going to
push her. After all, either her or Claudius was going to
need to sit out with Bruce, who was far too small to go
on such a thrill ride. Sierra took Callista's hand and
squeezed it. "Okay. You sit this one out with Callista
and Bruce." She agreed, readying to trade off baby duty
to endure the wild ride with Ewwiekewwieikkie and
Melickielickie, who could not be slowed down.
Instead, both of the Squibs hustled their adoptive
father off and into the ride. "Let's go wait over here."
She said to Callista, guiding her towards the exit of
the ride and the kiosk selling photos from the ride.
Sierra lingered close to the kiosk, eyeing the display
screen until the picture with Claudius and the girls
came up. She giggled, truly feeling back for her
husband, but the girls looked *so* happy! "I'll take
that one." Sierra said, purchasing a copy of the image
to immortalize the moment. She thought some of the
pictures she'd taken might make a great addition for her
desk. When the ride ended, Sierra was taking pictures of
Callista, who absolutely loved the holocam. Sierra saw
the state of her husband and frowned. She moved towards
him and offered him a much needed hug. "I'll never make
you go on that ride ever again." She whispered.
Melickielickie's fur was sticking up wildly. She
yawned, covering her open mouth with her paw. "Me
sleepy." She said, totally unaffected by the ride. "I go
sleep?" She asked, pawing at her adoptive mother's sun
Sierra looked towards Claudius and the girls. "Why
don't we go back to the hotel for a little bit?
Melickielickie and Bruce could use a nap... And
Ewwiekewwieikkie, we really ought to get you washed."
She said, running her hand over her adoptive daughter's
"I'm sleepy too, Melickielickie," Claudius said to
his newest daughter, but he was giving the signal to his
wife that it was time to go. As he began to leave he
came upon a vendor selling candy versions of his Squib
statue titled 'Big Time Hero of Beyond-Squib
Deliciousness', which made him cringe. He looked at it
for a moment, trying to determine if he really looked
like *that*. He refused to buy any, as he did not like
the idea of any of the girls devouring him. Eventually
they made their way back towards the tram that would
take them back towards the spaceport and the resorts. He
could hear 'It's a Small Galaxy After All' playing
already, which made him sigh, but eventually he just
accepted it and began to laugh. "Hey," he said to
Sierra, as he turned to stop her as the girls went on
ahead. "You did great today. I love you, and I always
will," he said, before leaning in and placing a kiss
upon her lips.
"Me three..." Sierra added as she imagined sprawling
out on the hotel bed and falling into a hibernation-like
state of sleep. As they were leaving, she spotted the
vendor with the 'Big Time Hero of Beyond-Squib
Deliciousness' and had to wonder if Auntie Mae was the
greatest ISB agent who ever lived. She knew everything!
She didn't like the idea of the girls eating candy
versions of him either, and did her best to use her body
to shield them away from even noticing the vendor.
It was hard to tell if the song was actually playing,
or simply repeating in Sierra's head. Briefly, the
Rainbow Rancor song moved to the back of her mind to be
replaced with this one. She was humming it when Claudius
stopped her. She grinned at him. "Hi you." It had been a
wild day, but a *great* day. "You too. That last ride
looked scary and I really didn't want to go on it." She
admitted, laughing. "I love you, and I always will." She
repeated his words, her heart feeling full and content.
Her lips met with his in a gentle, loving kiss. He was
"Aww. Kissie kissie," Ewwiekewwieikkie said, as she
moved onto the tram with everyone else. Gradually it got
moving and the Happiest Place on Corellia began to grow
smaller and smaller out of the window. She pressed her
face to the glass as she watched it disappear, feeling
profoundly sad. It was then she turned around, looking
towards Claudius Sierra, and offering her best smile.
"Can we come back tomorrow?!" she asked, just about as
excited as she had ever sounded.
